Fundraisers

Palmer Rapids Public School students together with the support of Parent Council, participate in many fundraisers. In the past, proceeds have gone towards the new playground equipment, class trips, bus costs for athletic events, and fun events that are free for our students such as Rocks and Rings (coming this March)!

Norcard/The Stone Kitchen Jam/First Aid Kits

This year our students will have the opportunity to participate in three different fundraising campaigns.   The campaigns will run during the Fall period with delivery of items being in time for the Christmas Season.  The campaign is being spear headed by Parent Volounteers - Tracie Marquardt and Heather Faraday.

Christmas Craft Sale

A major fundraiser for our school is the Annual Christmas Craft Sale.  The school gymnasium is transformed into a beautiful holiday store with vendors selling merchandise that brings with it the joy of the season.  Vendors and visitors are also welcome to purchase their lunch and enjoy a treat from the bake sale table.  The Christmas Craft Sale is organized by Parent Volunteer Leah Bozak.

THE GIFT OF GIVING

Terry Fox

Our students participate as a school in the annual Terry Fox Run held in September each year. In addition to the physical benefits, our students raise money to support the Terry Fox Foundation for cancer research.

CPAN

Palmer Rapids Public School students collect new and gently used snowsuits, footwear and other outerwear items in support of the Renfrew County Child Poverty Action Network (CPAN). The collection happens just before the Winter months hit.

Samaritan's Purse - Operation Christmas Child

Palmer Rapids Public School participates in Operation Christmas Child.  Students donate new items such as (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.), school supplies, toys (stuffed animals, toy jewellery, cars, etc.), gift ideas (clothing for ages 2-14), personal notes and cash.  These items are then packaged into individual shoe boxes and delivered to children less fortunate than themselves.

Jump Rope for Heart

This year Palmer students are participating in Jump Rope for Heart.  All money raised will be donated to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.  Palmer Rapids switches years - one year they support Jump Rope for Heart, the following year they support the MS Readathon.

MS Readathon

Alternate years, Palmer combines literacy with MS awareness in an effort to raise money for the MS Society.  Our next MS Readathon event will be held in the Winter of 2016
